The brand Perioded comes from the Edo Period, also called Tokugawa period, a division of Japanese history running 265 years from 1603 to 1867. The period ended with the Meiji Restoration, the restoration of imperial rule by the 15th and last shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu. The Edo period is also known as the beginning of the modern period for Japan. Take that for a history lesson!
